Impuls: Public-private cooperation for safeguarding public interests
Experiences with vTPA in the risk-oriented supervision by the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA)
This presentation focuses on the collaboration between the NVWA ( Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority) and vTPA (voluntary Third Party Assurance) systems. During this session, we will demonstrate how independent certification and audit systems contribute to smarter, more efficient, and risk-based supervision. It will cover:
• why the NVWA collaborates with vTPA systems,
• how this collaboration works in practice,
• what this means for businesses, certification systems, and supervision,
• and the added value this brings to safeguarding food safety and other public interests.
The presentation provides a clear overview of the acceptance process, monitoring activities, and how vTPA information is used to support adapted, risk oriented supervision.
